In close proximity to museum hill, Canyon Road and downtown Santa Fe this traditional adobe compound has privacy and tranquility with mature gardens, delightful outdoor living spaces and private access into the wide Arroyo Chamisa for quick access to walking trails. There is a thoughtful relationship between indoor and outdoor living with garden views from every room. Built in 1983 by an architect for his personal residence, it was later expanded and boasts luxurious fine finishes. Designed for entertaining, the formal dining room with bar opens out to an elegant portal with built-in grill area and traditional Kiva fireplace. With old world finishes, smooth plaster, and vigas, this home offers good separation of the 4 bedrooms including master suite with steam shower and jacuzzi bath. Guests will be able to access the full house, including all 4 bedrooms, the 3 bathrooms, the laundry room, living room, dining room, the kitchen including the full pantry. Guests will not have access to the small office or the detached Casita which will be vacant and locked during your stay. There are multiple grocery stores nearby: Kaunes, La Montanita Co-op, two Whole Foods Markets, Trader Joe’s, Smiths, and Sprouts, to name a few. For liquor, try Cliff’s at 903 Old Pecos Trail. Canyon Road is a short drive away (about 1.7 miles, or 6 min). There are many galleries and restaurants there including, The Teahouse, El Farol, Geronimo (reservations recommended), and The Compound. The Santa Fe Plaza is also near by. At about a 2.6 miles away, you may want to drive(8 min) or walk (1 hr). Around the Plaza you will find the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis de Asissi, Palace of the Governors, and the Loretto Chapel, as well as many world class restaurants. Santa Fe is a hiker’s paradise. The nearest trails to your house can be found right off of the back yard of the home. There are others a mere five minutes driving from your residence, (Atalaya trail is very popular and can be picked up right at St John’s College), and longer hiking can be found off of Hyde Park Road to the Ski Basin. Museum hill is literally directly behind the home with four museums walkable from the the back yard. Home to the Botanical Gardens, the Museum of Indian Arts, the International Folk Art Museum, the Wheelwright Museum, and the Museum of Spanish Colonial Art.
