Skiing in New Mexico - Wreaths for a Cause

The Adaptive Sports Program New Mexico is a non-profit organization that has been serving people impacted by disabilities since 1985. Their mission is to provide life-enhancing outdoor recreation and athletic opportunities for individuals with disabilities, enabling them to enjoy independence, increased self-confidence and esteem, personal growth, and achievement. They strive to promote health, wellness, rehabilitation, and recovery through adaptive sports, recreation, and exercise.

The A Vacation Different team is proud to have a close connection with this program. Co-owner Laura and her husband Alec have volunteered for the ski program each winter for over five years. For Laura, it combines two of her favorite things — skiing and supporting people to have fun participating in sports. Laura loves to see students build their confidence, learn patience, and, most importantly, have fun through skiing.

Each holiday season, the Adaptive Sports Program has a wreath sales fundraiser program where volunteers sell holiday wreaths. A Vacation Different is proud to support the efforts and proudly hangs these wreaths on the vacation homes that we manage within Santa Fe. You may recognize the one in the photo above if you have stayed with us in one of our Santa Fe rental homes over the holidays!
